WAIC 2025: Zebra Zhixing Yuan Shen AI Achieves Top Global Evaluation}
At WAIC 2025, Zebra Zhixing's Yuan Shen AI model was rated first by an international assessment agency, showcasing China's leading position in AI-powered automotive intelligent cockpit technology.
Recently, Alibaba's Tongyi AI reclaimed the title of the world's strongest open-source large model.
Two weeks ago, a startup released the Kimi K2 model and open-sourced it, surpassing DeepSeek to become the top open-source large model, causing some embarrassment for Tongyi in the open-source camp.
On July 25, Alibaba released the new open-source Qianwen 3 inference model, significantly improving performance and once again leading the global ranking of open-source models, rivaling top proprietary models like Gemini-2.5 Pro and o4-mini, and setting the record for the strongest open-source model performance worldwide.
However, Alibaba's AI strategy involves more than just Tongyi. At the 2025 WAIC in Shanghai, Zebra Zhixing, in collaboration with Tongyi and Qualcomm, announced the industry's first end-side multimodal large model solution based on the Qualcomm 8397 platform. This enables 90% of the perception-decision-execution service loop purely on the vehicle side, pushing automotive smart cockpits into an era of proactive intelligence.
At the conference, Zebra Zhixing's industry-first collaborative model based on Tongyi QwenVL and Omini small models was showcased, demonstrating end-to-end fusion models designed specifically for automotive scenarios.
Multiple industry reports indicate that the intelligent cockpit market is entering a phase of large-scale growth, shifting focus from basic functions to deep ecosystem service capabilities. Only companies with high synergy in technology, ecosystem, and business can maintain a sustained competitive advantage.
Zebra Zhixing's approach in smart vehicles emphasizes ecosystem development and industry empowerment, with a strong focus on hardware-software integration. Besides adapting to Qualcomm 8397, it has also completed compatibility with Nvidia Orin, collaborating with over ten chip companies and thirty platforms, including domestic brands like Black Sesame and Unisoc, which are now deploying domestically in leading automakers.
Beyond hardware, Zebra Zhixing has pioneered innovative architecture, including proprietary scene-specific models, generative scene engines, and native intelligent agents, enabling a leap in proactive AI capabilities. During WAIC, users experienced various proactive AI agent functions on the Zeith M vehicle, such as adjusting climate control based on cabin environment and user activity, or recommending playlists during traffic congestion.
Its local lifestyle agent, a first in the industry, fully integrates in-vehicle scenarios with local services, allowing users to order coffee or food via voice and experience future lifestyle scenarios like the envisioned fully intelligent Tesla restaurant, once a distant dream.
In addition to supporting Chinese brands like Zeith, Zebra Zhixing has partnered with global automakers including Volkswagen, BMW, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, demonstrating its role in empowering the global automotive industry with Chinese innovation.
