Morning Keynote: Wanxiang Che — Trends and Outlook for ACL 2025

Speaker Bio: Wanxiang Che, Professor and PhD supervisor at Harbin Institute of Technology, Vice Director of the AI Research Institute, visiting scholar at Stanford University. His research focuses on NLP and large language models. He is a council member of the Chinese Society of Computational Linguistics and co-chair of ACL 2025.
Summary: This report reviews recent trends in ACL research, highlights key topics, and analyzes the evolution of NLP research, providing valuable insights for practitioners and researchers.
Afternoon Keynote: Pengfei Liu — Large Model Reinforcement Learning & Complex Reasoning

Speaker Bio: Pengfei Liu, Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Director Assistant at Chuangzhi College, recipient of the National Excellent Youth Fund. His research covers pretraining for NLP, complex reasoning, and prompt engineering. His notable works include o1 journey, LIMA, and LIMO.
Summary: This talk explores the shift from “knowledge engineering” to “cognitive engineering” in generative AI, focusing on breakthroughs in complex reasoning, testing techniques, RL scaling, and long chain reasoning for building intelligent agents.
