Claude Code Launches in Just 4 Months, Attracting 115,000 Users: Developers Say $200/Month Is Not Expensive}
Claude Code, launched four months ago, has gained 115,000 users and processed nearly 200 million lines of code, proving AI coding tools significantly boost productivity at a reasonable cost.

In the realm of coding, large models are truly enhancing productivity, and developers are willing to pay for the time saved.
Is coding really the most promising application of large AI models today? Recent data from Anthropic shows that their Claude Code has attracted 115,000 developers and handled 195 million lines of code within just over four months of release.

Deedy Das, a venture capitalist from Menlo Ventures, estimates that Claude Code alone could generate annual revenue of around $130 million for Anthropic.

This calculation assumes each developer contributes over $1,000 annually, based on factors like approximately 15 tokens per line of code, 25% code output, and a 10x ratio of input to output tokens, with 5% subscribing to the Max plan. Actual results may vary.

However, the figure of 195 million lines of code should be interpreted cautiously, as many changes require multiple iterations and revisions to meet quality standards.

Feedback from users indicates that Claude Code has a good reputation. It integrates Anthropic’s advanced Claude Opus 4 language model, offering features like file operations, code search, web browsing, and Git workflow management, greatly improving daily coding efficiency.
Many users report that Claude Code excels at understanding project architecture and generating contextually relevant code suggestions. It can browse documentation and execute commands directly within the development environment, making workflows smoother compared to web-based tools.
Developers find the value in paying for Claude Code, considering it worth the cost.

Even when handling large modules with over 1,000 lines of code, developers feel the tool remains acceptable.

Some developers previously using Cursor are switching to Claude Code because of its superior understanding of codebases, tool invocation, and context management, providing a better user experience.

Despite challenges like code quality control, security risks, and intellectual property concerns, Claude Code has demonstrated its core value: significantly improving developer productivity.
