On June 30, Ant Group announced the opening of four self-developed core technologies—Layer2 network, large model development tools, "Blockchain + IoT" trusted architecture, and institutional-grade Web3 wallet technology—aimed at providing full-stack technical services for Hong Kong’s development as a global digital asset innovation center. This move is seen as a positive response to Hong Kong’s Digital Asset Development Policy Declaration.

Recently, the Hong Kong SAR government released "Digital Asset Development Policy Declaration 2.0," which adopts the "LEAP" strategic framework. The strategy emphasizes tokenization as a key focus, promoting the tokenization of gold, non-ferrous metals, and new energy resources, with the goal of making Hong Kong a global innovation hub in digital assets. The LEAP strategy includes optimizing legal and regulatory frameworks, expanding tokenization product categories, advancing application scenarios and cross-sector cooperation, and developing talent and partners.

Yan Ying, Chief Scientist of Ant Group, stated that Hong Kong’s highly open financial market and rich financial scenarios enable Ant Group to leverage leading technologies to empower local financial institutions and services, unleashing innovation vitality in digital assets. She emphasized, "A single tree cannot make a forest; benefiting everyone is our mission. Ant Group will open and share more leading technological achievements, working together to build an open and collaborative global digital technology ecosystem."

Data shows that since 2016, Ant Group has invested heavily in blockchain technology R&D, ranking first globally in blockchain patent authorizations. Its core technologies, such as smart contracts, network transmission, storage engines, and cross-chain technology, have achieved major breakthroughs and are at the forefront worldwide. Previously, Ant Group joined the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Ensemble sandbox as a core member and announced plans to establish its overseas headquarters in Hong Kong.
