On June 19, the AWS China Summit was held in Shanghai.

During the summit, Amazon Vice President and AWS Greater China President Ruishong Chu elaborated on the rapid deployment of generative AI scenarios and applications, marking the explosion of Agentic AI technology. Enterprises need to prepare both management and technical strategies to seize the new opportunities brought by this revolution. AWS will support business innovation in the AI era from multiple dimensions, including infrastructure, data, and AI.

Ruishong Chu also emphasized AWS’s two core businesses in China: helping Chinese companies expand globally and leveraging its advantages to support local and multinational enterprises in China (operating in Beijing via Guanghua Cloud and in Ningxia via Xcloud Data) to drive business growth and AI innovation. The summit also launched the AWS China Customer Agentic AI Practice Guide to help local clients innovate at the forefront of AI.

Ruishong Chu stated: "AI has reached a turning point, and we are on the eve of the Agentic AI explosion. In this era of accelerating innovation with AI, companies that innovate efficiently will significantly enhance customer experience, transform business models, generate high-value returns, and improve operational efficiency while reducing costs. In this context, choosing the right cloud platform is crucial. AWS is committed to utilizing leading global cloud and AI technologies, secure and compliant practices, industry solutions, and a broad partner network, always adhering to customer-first service to help enterprises accelerate business innovation in the AI era."

During the summit, Shaown Nandi, AWS Global Technical Director, shared the latest insights and progress in cloud and AI technology in his keynote speech. Nandi described AI development as a giant wave: seemingly calm ripples can evolve into 30-meter-high waves under certain conditions. Generative AI and Agentic AI have grown from small breakthroughs into a super wave driven by continuous model innovation, vast data, and powerful computing. As enterprises shift from cautious exploration to widespread application, and with ongoing innovation in model capabilities, accuracy, and safety by leading tech companies like AWS, this AI super wave is reshaping industries worldwide.

Seizing New Opportunities in Agentic AI: Dual Focus on Technology and Management

Since the rise of generative AI, its technology and applications have undergone rapid iteration and deep integration across industries, helping many enterprises innovate and create value. The capabilities of large models are rapidly advancing; protocols like MCP and A2A greatly simplify interactions between agents and external tools, and between agents themselves. Cost reductions, tools like Amazon Q that streamline agent development, and ready-to-use APIs for data and applications have all fueled the explosion of Agentic AI.

Agentic AI plays a vital role in improving employee productivity, optimizing operations, and enabling product and business model innovation. To unlock its full potential, enterprises need to advance management and technology simultaneously. Management-wise, they should develop clear top-level strategies, optimize mechanisms and talent, and prepare for digital transformation. Technologically, they must evaluate security, reliability, flexibility, and technological leadership, choosing unified AI-ready infrastructure to unlock Agentic AI’s potential. Breaking data silos, effectively managing and governing data, and executing strategies swiftly are also crucial. With management and technology working together, enterprises can leverage Agentic AI to accelerate innovation, enhance customer experience, and transform business models.
