AI Agents' 'Super Brain' Arrives: Alibaba Cloud Launches Wuying AgentBay}

On July 28, at the Shanghai World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2025), Alibaba Cloud officially unveiled the first dedicated 'super brain' for AI Agents—Wuying AgentBay. This cloud-based computer not only performs basic tasks like code execution, web browsing, data analysis, programming, and spreadsheet creation but also possesses AI skills such as visual understanding, natural language control, and task parsing. It can seamlessly switch between Windows, Linux, Android, and other systems, calling on cloud computing power, storage, and toolchains with just three lines of code, achieving a 'plug-and-play' experience that allows AI developers to say goodbye to complicated installations and configurations.

As one of the most anticipated technologies of 2025, the global AI Agents market has surpassed $5 billion, with an annual growth rate of 40%. However, a major pain point remains: local devices, like 'ants moving houses,' struggle to support high concurrency and high computing power tasks, especially those requiring extensive GPU computation, which ordinary office computers cannot handle. Additionally, during task execution, local resources and permissions are often heavily occupied, severely impacting user experience.

The technology principle of cloud computers naturally solves this problem by connecting AI tasks directly to high-performance cloud environments. It comes with massive MCP tools and environments, enabling easy task execution, elastic computing expansion, and full visualization, significantly reducing runtime.

As Zhang Xiantao, President of Alibaba Cloud's Wuying division, states, "Just as the internet fostered the app ecosystem, cloud environments with elastic computing, rich ecosystems, and easy deployment are becoming the natural habitat for AI Agents." Wuying AgentBay aims to create an out-of-the-box cloud infrastructure for Agents, freeing AI companies from complex engineering processes.

After over three months of internal testing, the officially launched Wuying AgentBay integrates core capabilities such as cloud sandbox environments, resource scheduling, persistent data storage, and enterprise-grade security. It supports multiple mainstream environments, including Linux, Windows, Android, and application layers like Computer Use, Mobile Use, Browser Use, and Code Space, providing comprehensive support for automated AI applications.

Compared to the testing phase, Wuying AgentBay has added AI technologies such as visual understanding, natural language control, and task parsing. It supports various interaction methods, including atomic tool APIs, AI Agent APIs, and ASP remote streaming protocols, offering multimodal input and intelligent decision-making to improve automation efficiency. Its upgraded cross-platform data roaming system ensures state and memory persistence, enabling resource loading and switching without rebooting.

Historically, AI Agents could modify or delete local files, acting like a 'black box' that might leave junk files or cause data loss. Wuying AgentBay creates a 'firewall' with enterprise-grade security, using encrypted transmission and strict permission isolation to achieve 'zero intrusion' into local environments, providing dual protection for consumers and vendors.

Leveraging Alibaba Cloud's global infrastructure, Wuying also offers GPU computing power for large AI models, 3D software, and more, supporting complex data analysis, small model training, and game generation.

Recent data shows that in the past three months, the number of AI Agent-related products has exceeded the total for the previous year, marking the beginning of a new wave in the tech industry. Zhang Xiantao revealed that future iterations of AgentBay will evolve into a comprehensive Agent infrastructure, capable of hosting applications and covering the entire AI lifecycle from development to deployment.

2. The 'Small Box': Making the Elephant Dance in the Fridge

Smart terminals are the best interface for integrating AI breakthroughs with China's manufacturing and market advantages. Wuying's 'Small Box' aims to create an integrated solution combining terminal models, engines, and hardware, overcoming physical resource limits and optimizing computing power for maximum utilization.

In terms of terminal models, Wuying announced the joint development of the world's first native model Infini-Megrez 2.0, capable of matching cloud-level 21B parameters while maintaining memory at 7B and computation at 3B, perfectly fitting various devices and breaking the 'impossible triangle' of efficiency, space, and intelligence.

Furthermore, combining Mizar 2.0 and Megrez 2.0 significantly boosts inference speed and reduces memory and power consumption, achieving an 18% improvement in AI performance and over 100% increase in inference efficiency under the same resources. Zhang Xiantao states, "If Mizar 2.0 is about fitting the elephant into the fridge, then combining it with Megrez 2.0 is about making the elephant dance inside."

Building larger models means unlocking more diverse terminal AI applications, pushing the autonomous evolution of terminal Agentic AI.

Based on the major upgrade of Mizar 2.0, Alibaba Cloud announced a partnership with New H3C to produce integrated large model workstations, offering ready-to-use hardware-software solutions for users, enabling 'one-time payment, unlimited AI.' Additionally, Alibaba Cloud partnered with Sugon to develop FPGA-based large model inference machines, capable of running 100-billion-parameter models with improved energy efficiency and reduced inference costs.

Alibaba Cloud is collaborating with Shanghai Chuangzhi Institute, Lenovo, H3C, Yige Technology, and other industry partners to build the next-generation AI terminal ecosystem, aiming to bring AGI into thousands of households and benefit everyone.
